Join NSLPS

Being a member of the NSLPS is vital to showing your support for our organization and our efforts to preserve lighthouses in Nova Scotia. It’s also a great way for you to be kept up to date with events and even to volunteer if you would like.  As we are a registered non-profit society with charitable status, receipts for income tax purposes are given for membership dues and donations.

Individual Membership in NSLPS brings you

• a charitable tax receipt sent via email within four weeks of paying membership fees,
• advance notice of tours, programmes and events on our website,
• issues of our newsletter, The Lightkeeper,
• quarterly emails about our initiatives such as our Lighthouse Sites map and Interpretative Signage.
• In addition, you are supporting the work of saving lighthouses in Nova Scotia!

Standard membership options:

• Single $20
• Family $25
• Student $15 (included a PDF version of the lightkeep rather than a paper version). This membership option is open to anyone who is engaged in full or part time education
• Affiliation $30 for commercial organizations.

Sustaining Member and Patron Member

Sustaining Member $50 and  Patron Member $100 are memberships that provide the above benefits along with additional funding to give additional support for the many activities that we perform.

Since 2020, NSLPS has been supporting free of charge any community group or society leasing or owning a Nova Scotia lighthouse by:

• posting on Facebook and Instagram a lighthouse of the week,
• listing summer Open Hours of individual lighthouses on the NSLPS website,
• sending an e-copy of our newsletter, The Lightkeeper,
• quarterly emails about issues affecting lighthouses or funding opportunities.

Our new online payment form makes it easy to join. No printing forms, finding an envelope, getting postage or going out to the mailbox. Your payment information is fully encrypted with the same encryption method used by banks. We accept both MasterCard and Visa.

Donations and memberships can also be mailed to the association.
