Louisbourg Lighthouse Scenic Route: Marconi Trail

Louisbourg Lighthouse, the first lighthouse in Canada, and the second established in North America was built here. The original stone tower was lit by the French in 1734 and heavily damaged during the 1758 British siege of Louisbourg. The present tower (1923) is the third built on the site.
