Description:Margaretsville light was built in 1859, and is distinctive in Nova Scotia because of its black stripe. Nearby is a cliff known as Peters Point, where wrecker Peter Barnes fell to his death 20 years after he lured a schooner to her tragic end at that very spot. This lighthouse is one of the few in operation on the Bay of Fundy Shore, and is operated by the Canadian Coast Guard. There is a deck with benches around the lighthouse and at low tide you can go down onto the red beach.

Parking available. Picnic tables available. Guides or information boards. Scenic location.
